TASHKENT, May 14, 2026 — The curtain came down today on Uzbekistan Energy Week 2026 (UEW 2026), a three-day mega-event that brought the Central Asian energy industry’s most consequential conversations to life at the Central Asian Expocenter (CAEx Uzbekistan) in Tashkent. Running from May 12 to 14, the event reached a milestone in its 28-year history, making this the largest edition ever held.
At the heart of the week was the 28th International Exhibition “Oil & Gas Uzbekistan – OGU 2026”, organized by Iteca Exhibitions in partnership with ICA Eurasia Group and Congresses of Central Asia (CCA), with official support from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and JSC “Uzbekneftegaz”. Since its inaugural edition in 1997, OGU has grown into the most authoritative oil and gas event in Central Asia — UFI-certified since 2009 — and this year’s numbers confirmed its unrivalled position.

The 2026 edition united 580 companies and brands, over 1,500 delegates, and more than 140 speakers and moderators from 34 countries — figures that collectively broke every previous record in the forum’s history. National pavilions from Belarus, Germany, China, Russia, and Türkiye were displayed alongside collective stands from Italy and the Republic of Korea, reflecting the truly global scope of the gathering.
Chinese enterprises emerged as one of the largest contingents at the exhibition, with especially strong presence in solar energy, power transmission, smart industrial technologies, and — critically for the pipeline sector — mechanical equipment and connecting devices for oil and gas infrastructure. Three Exhibitions, One Unified Vision
The exhibition segment of UEW 2026 comprised three concurrent shows under one roof:
OGU 2026 (Oil & Gas Uzbekistan) — the flagship event, showcasing advanced technologies, equipment, and engineering solutions for the upstream and midstream oil and gas sector, including mechanical equipment, separation systems, pipeline components, welding technology, and connecting devices such as pipes, fittings, flanges, and rubber hoses.
Power Uzbekistan 2026 (19th edition) — focused on digital solutions, energy-saving technologies, and equipment for electricity production, storage, and transmission.
GETCA 2026 — a specialized section titled “Green Energy Tomorrow, Central Asia,” spotlighting innovative solutions in solar and wind power generation.
The business program ran under the “Uzbekistan Energy Forum” brand and featured an International Oil and Gas Conference, an International Energy Conference, and a Youth Energy Section, providing an intellectually rich backdrop to the commercial activity on the exhibition floor.
Uzbekistan’s Energy Transformation: Opportunity in the Pipeline
Beyond the exhibition floor, Uzbekistan’s own energy transition story added strategic weight to this year’s event. The country has already commissioned large-scale solar and wind power plants with a combined capacity of 5.6 GW in collaboration with international partners. The share of renewable energy in total electricity generation has reached 30%, with a government target of 54% by 2030.
This accelerating energy buildout — encompassing both conventional oil and gas infrastructure and new renewable capacity — translates directly into sustained demand for pipeline materials: carbon steel and alloy steel pipes, butt weld fittings, forged steel flanges, and associated coating and lining systems. Sponsors at UEW 2026 included major global players such as ACWA Power, Huawei, Masdar, Rosatom, and Honeywell, underscoring the high investment stakes in the region.
