ASTM A790 S31803 Duplex Steel Pipe
ASTM A790 is the standard specification for seamless and welded ferritic/austenitic stainless steel tubing.
ASTM A789 and ASTM A790 Duplex stainless steel tubing is typically manufactured using either the seamless or welded process. For seamless tube, a solid billet of the material is heated and then passed through a piercing bar to create a hollow tube. The tube is then rolled to the required thickness and cut to length. For welded tubes, the material is first formed into a flat sheet. The sheet is then rolled into a tube shape and welded along the longitudinal seam. The welded tube is then heat treated to remove any residual stresses and improve its mechanical properties.
