ASTM A182 SS 904L Flanges is an alloy with a high strength to weight ratio with a superior cavitations resistance. 904L is a SS alloy that displays high resistance to corrosion, particularly against acidic environments. Additions of copper and carbon provides it distinct characteristics, with the copper serving as a strengthening agent against corrosive acids. The little amount of carbon in its compositions gives 904L increased weld ability and cleanliness against continual wear and tear. The mixture of chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and copper in its makeup serve to offer 904L exceptional resistance against sulfuric acid. The metal was developed to stop corrosion where such acids are utilized or applied. Therefore, 904L is approved to be used in acid production and concentration, together with the transport of such substances. About Long Weld Neck Flange
The Long Weld Neck Flange is normally referred to as the high hub flange. It is designed to transfer stresses to the pipe, thereby reducing high stress concentrations at the base of the flange.
Long welding neck flange (integral flange), lwn flanges are similar to a standard Welding Neck flanges, but the “Neck” is considerably longer than other flanges. LWN flange is often used as a nozzle for a barrel or column. In addition, there are the type LWN Heavy Barrel (HB) and the Equal LWN Barrel (E); they have a different shape and a thicker “Wall”.
