Last week we shipped 12000 CBM 3LPE PIPE,3LPE fitting and FBE coating flange to Saudi project.
Piping and fittings particular protection for transport:
The machined surfaces and flanges in carbon steel shall be covered in grease or special oil which does not require cleaning on site before welding.
The ends of the pipes to be butt welded on site shall be protected by means of a metallic cap, with a
wooden disk in contact with the beveled end.
The ends of the pipes and fittings to be welded and supplied separately shall be protected with plastic
plugs.
The metallic caps and plastic plugs shall be firmly attached to the pipe by means of adhesive tape
guaranteeing a hermetic closing.
The flanges shall be protected by means of a wood disk attached with bolts. Components must be packed in pallets and secured by means of plastic or steel straps.
Steel materials must be protected against any kind of contamination and chloride attack, such as exposure to saline environment during shipping, cleaning, manufacturing, test or storage. Insulation for that exposure must be supplied to prevent such contamination.
For thin pipes, prevention of damages must be considered regarding deformation due to impact at
loading or unloading maneuvers.

Following the applicable ASME A13.1. Marking will be indelible, and it will identify each section or piece up to the erection.
Besides, as a complementary labelling, the plate shall include the following information:
- Manufacturer’s name
- Piping class
- Lengths
- Hydrostatic test pressure
- Nominal thickness in mm
- Casting number
- “NH” when the hydrostatic test has not been completely done on the pipe
- “WR” when the pipe has been repaired by welding.
Piping and accessories ND 50 and less supplied as separate materials shall also be identified indicating the material.

Units for transport:
The carbon steel piping must be supplied into the largest possible units for transport and handling. Small and fragile parts which are susceptible of damage during transport must be removed from the unit and packed and protected separately.
The carbon steel piping materials shall be designed and manufactured for a design life of more than 25 years.
The projected year-round operating profile is bases on 8760 hour per year.
