A234 WPB HSS (High Temperature, High Pressure) Shrink Sleeve Lateral Manifold Fittings are pipe connectors used to join three pipes together, typically in fluid transfer systems.
Material Standard A234 WPB meets ASTM A234 standards for low and high temperature applications with good strength and corrosion resistance. The shrink sleeve design allows the sleeve to be heated during installation to shrink and fit snugly into the pipe, improving the sealing and strength of the connection. Widely used in industries such as oil, gas, chemical and water systems.

About ASTM A234 WPB Scope

ASTM A234 includes wrought carbon steel and alloy steel fittings of seamless and welded construction covered by the latest revision of ASTM B16.9, B16.11, MSS-SP-79, MSS-SP-83, MSS-SP-95, and MSS-SP-97. etc. These fittings are intended for use in pressure piping and pressure vessel construction for service at moderate and elevated temperatures.

The fittings material in this standard consists of killed steel, forgings, bars, plates, seamless or fusion welded tubular products with added filler metal. In this standard it covers the specification of elbows, tees, reducers, caps and crosses, it usually adopt butt welding ends.

Process

Killed steel in the form of forgings, bars, plates, sheets and seamless or fusion-welded tubular products with the addition of filler metal. Forging or shaping operations carried out by hammering, stamping, piercing, extruding, upsetting, rolling, bending, fusion welding, machining or by a combination of two or more of these operations.

Although the majority of projects have their own specifications, C&N has provided material to ASMEB31.1and B31.3 as well.
X-Ray, Ultrasonic testing, Magnetic Particle and other Non Destructive Examination, as well as Charpies, Yield and Tensile and Chemistry analyses are available also.
Fabricated laterals in sizes 1 1/4″ up to 120″ also fabricate Double Laterals available.

B Fittings made from bar or plate may have 0.35 max carbon.A When fittings are of welded construction, the grade and marking symbol shown above shall be supplemented by letter “W”.
C Fittings made from forgings may have 0.35 max carbon and 0.35 max silicon with no minimum.
D For each reduction of 0.01 % below the specified carbon maximum, an increase of 0.06 % manganese above the specified maximum will be permitted, up to a maximum of 1.65 %.
E The sum of Copper, Nickel, Chromium, and Molybdenum shall not exceed 1.00 %.
F Applies both to heat and product analyses.
