Reinforcement Pad Fitting,ASTM A234 WPB Reinforce Pad For Tee

Reinforce Pad Why Is Reinforcement Necessary? When a welded T-piece is created in a pipeline run, the strength of the run is reduced by the hole created. This loss of strength must be compensated for in one of two ways: either by initially selecting and using pipe with excess wall thickness in the run and/or branch, or if this isn't possible, by adding extra thickness to the newly created joint. One way of adding this extra thickness is to install a reinforcement pad. What Is A Reinforce Pad? Why Is Reinforcement Necessary?

When a welded T-piece is created in a pipeline run, the strength of the run is reduced by the hole created. This loss of strength must be compensated for in one of two ways: either by initially selecting and using pipe with excess wall thickness in the run and/or branch, or if this isn’t possible, by adding extra thickness to the newly created joint. One way of adding this extra thickness is to install a reinforcement pad.

What Is A Reinforce Pad?

Typically manufactured by extrusion, a reinforcement pad is a non-pressure retaining structural component installed over a welded tee joint to provide adequate reinforcement for the joint. Because they are not designed to contain pressure, reinforcing pads are supplied with a “weep” hole to prevent the possibility of pressure build-up between the saddle and the pressurised pipe. There are two types of backing pad: Partial and full wrap.

C&N Repad Customization

Reinforcement pads are not one-size-fits-all solutions. Their design and dimensions are determined by precise engineering calculations. These calculations take into account factors such as pipe size, pressure, load and material specifications to ensure that the Repad fits the application and provides structural integrity and reliability.

A234 WPB – The standard specification for piping fittings of wrought carbon steel and alloy steel for moderate and high temperature.
