Type of flanges which can be produced through ASTM A182 grade 5 material are as follows:
ASTM A182 Grade F5 Threaded flange: It is a flange which connects with pipe without getting welding. It is equivalent to socket weld and slip on flange. It is been fixed with a tapered screw inside the bore of flange which is been mounted on the pipe with designated outer threads. In some situation a weld seal is put in associated threaded pipe flange.
A182 F5 Cl2 Lap Joint flange: It is similar to slip on flange, which has a curved radius at the bore. It connects with the stub end fitting and slides on the pipe. In this flange, the pipe is been commonly welded to the stub end so that lap joint flange can revolve easily around the stub end. This combination gives advantage to align easily with bolt hole and make easy install and uninstall. Which makes maintenance and examination easy.
ASME SA182 F5 Cl2 Blind flange: It is used to close and seal off the pipe ends or pressure vessels. In high pressure applications, to stop the flow of liquid and gases. It is utilize in multiple industries due to safety and reliable sealing of pipes.
ASME SA182 F5 Socket-weld flange: It is useful for small diameter pipes. It gives connection in which the pipe is been placed into the flange and then fixed the connection of piping system. It is usually designed for high pressure condition.
ASME SA182 F5 Slip On flange: It is produced to accept pipe into the bore of the flange. It is also known as ‘hubbed flange’ which has very low profile. It is usually connected pipe by one or two fillet welds and welded only on one side. It is utilize for low pressure applications.

ASTM A182 F1 Lap Joint Flanges is a two piece device that is much like a weld-neck flange but also like a loose slip-on flange. It has an advantage to swivel around the stub end and pipelining.
SA 182 Gr.F1 Slip on Flanges are also called SO flange. It’s a flange which slides over the pipe with an internal design are slightly larger than the pipe.
